It might be considered sketchy by young adults, but after all it is an American Chinese Buffett. Of course, vegetable fried rice is vegetable fried rice--nothing less than I expected. We had crab rangoon, sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. I'm allergic to Asian food if they use too much msg! Food is always brought as ordered. And by buffet, I mean two short carts of food, and a third off to the side for pudding, fresh fruit, and dessert items. Even though i'm giving it 2 stars it is one of the only chinese places in bloomington that i'd recommend.
The pot stickers tasted awful! But most of all I don't taste msg! I actually got a refund on my food, which I think is the best thing you can do after paying for it. Lots of can soda selections. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice Chinese restaurant in Bloomington. The portions are generous, and if you are looking to save some calories, their light options steamed meat and veggies with the sauce on the side are really good. I hate writing negative reviews but sometimes you have to be honest when it hurts. I love big fat white gluten free noodle, they made it to a perfection. I eat here all the time and I find it to be extremely nice.
That's cheaper than China House was, when it was over here on the West Side. We hope you enjoy your dining experience. On my second trip to the steam table there were no clean forks available. If I'm wrong about that, for the love of god, do not hesitate to inbox me where a gal can get some awesome Chinese Buffet in town! I hope to return to try some more interesting dishes soon! I thought I'd try it again since it has been awhile. The bloomington Great Wall should be closed Fantastic Vegan Dinner.
Picture the most typical, average, regular-ass Chinese buffet food you've ever eaten. I also recently ordered a Garlic Shrimp that had maybe 4 pieces of shrimp in it. We ordered 2 large vegetable fried rices and it easily fed 6 people. Small area to sit and eat. I assumed that was the end of interaction, but as I was grabbing my plate, the lady pointed out my apparent assigned table.
Could be nicer but a good place to grab a quick bite. Biggest drawback is they are really busy so a call in can become a long wait on hold. Chicken and beef kebabs are excellent, though not consistently available not always served and when offered, go fast. If you are reading reviews you want something better. Food is out quick and hot and served to your table.
I would rate it just above drive through fast burger food as edible but most Americans would probably take the drive through. I went to this place with low expectations, and that being the case, left satisfied. Tip- If you like things with some kick. What I do not really understand is why or how they are still there! They did not put our orders together liked we asked so one person's food was left behind. Try the Thai Chan Chicken.
Quintessential greasy chinese place that offers huge portions and wonderful value. I went because the reviews where pretty ok but let me tell you when i say that the man that got up from a table he was eating at and started cooking my food with out washing his hand not to mention he was digging in his nose i almost lost my cool and the whole time im sitting there the delivery drivers are taliking about people not tipping just seems like the vibe is wrong if the workers are not happy then how do you think the food is i will never go back. Taste perfect, I everything just right not greasy or salty. I highly recommend the honey chicken, green beans, and chow mien. The chicken bits for the sweet and sour chicken felt and tasted overcooked, and the chicken on the stick was pretty cold.
They all come out the same way with 20% protein and 80% onions. Portion sizes are huge, food is always piping hot, veggies are crisp and green and the egg rolls are great. It's a very loving atmosphere. The owners and workers are extremely kind and happy, they are the type of people I love to support. Great Taste used to have the hands down best sesame balls and I was hoping for some of those today. They have never let me down. Tonight I ordered fried dumplings.
I could hardly tell that the guy taking our order was talking to us because he never once looked at me or acknowledged what I said. They do deliver, but I've always used the carry out. I recently ordered a Mongolian Beef and it literally had maybe 2 oz. Another tip is if you aren't wild about the egg roll option you can always ask for extra broccoli in your dish instead. I went into Great Taste for a quick lunch today. I could not bring myself to examine the edges closely. I also prefer my food hot rather than reluctantly warm.
Like in many other reviews I agree the quality and service levels have gone drastically down. I took a pic of something that's supposed to be spicy shrimp but is obviously a plastic tray of onions. They tasted like they were cooked several hours ago and reheated up again. The owners and workers are extremely kind and happy, they are the type of people I love to support. I've come to realize the owner uses onions and to some degree celery as a cheap filler for all his dishes as a replacement for the more expensive ingredients like bamboo shoots, lemon grass or basically any other veg. What helps is if they have at least one dish which stands out, like spicy green beans at one place I know.
