Overall, this is a great upgrade. Forrest Gump, the novel, was written in 1986 by the author Winston Groom. As far as the film itself goes I think this is a great one. Hoosiers really caught my interest as a great underdog story and that is why I chose to further study the 1986 classic. Winston Groom's Forrest Gump was a novel that was complicated, but Oscar winning director Robert Zemeckis brings events together with visual effects that boggle even George Lucas.
The movie has it all too,drama,comedy and it challenges societal norms as well. We love our cats and dogs for the same simplicity and always being in the moment. Forrest's story will take you all across America, and beyond. The message I gathered from the film was that anything is possible if you can work hard and accept change. When you have witnessed pure love, affection, kindness there is only one thing to do. The man meets Presidents, inspires kings of music , and lives the kind of life that most people would never even dream of. Say what you want but I feel Tom Hanks deserved the Oscar award.
